Surety’s Digital Notary® Service to Interoperate with Xcert’s PKI Solutions
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., -- Xcert International Inc., the premier developer of software products for securing business-to-business electronic commerce over the Internet, announced today that Surety, Inc., the leader in electronic notary technology, has joined its OpenXchange Partner Program. In addition to collaborating on joint sales and marketing activities, Surety and Xcert will work together to provide a highly robust infrastructure for business-to-business electronic commerce over the Internet.
The OpenXchange Partner Program enables Xcert\'s Sentry CA Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and digital signature solution to be fully interoperable with Surety\'s electronic data authentication technology, Surety\'s Digital Notary® Service.
Surety\'s Digital Notary Service further enhances the validity of Xcert\'s digital signature system by adding a digital notary element to the certificate authentication process. The combination of Xcert\'s \"who\" and \"what\" authentication system and Surety\'s \"when\" and \"what\" digital notary technology ensures the document\'s integrity. By offering customers the two technologies, users have indisputable proof of \"who\" signed \"what\" document and \"when\" that document was signed, ensuring non-repudiable transactions.
\"Our participation in Xcert\'s partner program enables us to offer our customers the latest PKI and digital certificate solutions from Xcert,\" said Barry Libenson, executive vice president of Surety. \"Our solutions enable customers to deploy large-scale PKI solutions with the added security of our Digital Notary Service.\"
Xcert\'s OpenXchange Partner Program is targeted to e-commerce product vendors, channel partners, systems integrators and consultants who are committed to deploying, supporting or interoperating with Xcert\'s award winning Sentry CA solution. The OpenXchange program enables partners to plug in Xcert\'s PKI and digital signature solution, providing them with the critical enabling technology for secure and non-repudiable electronic commerce over the Internet. As part of the program, Xcert\'s Interoperability Lab issues the Xcertified seal of approval after certifying that partners\' products meet the integration requirements for large-scale PKI deployments. Other benefits of the OpenXchange program include joint sales and marketing activities and preferential access to Xcert training, technology and product information.
Xcert\'s Sentry CA 3.6 solution allows an organization to own and operate its own digital certificate authority (CA) according to its own existing business practices. As the only solution to interoperate with all other standard PKI systems, Sentry CA extends PKI beyond the firewall and enables enterprises to exchange digital certificates with business partners and customers regardless of location. Xcert\'s technology enables financial institutions, large corporations and government agencies to increase revenue and improve productivity by conducting sensitive business transactions electronically.
\"The interoperability of our products ensures that business transactions, lab data, video/audio recordings, or data used for government regulatory compliance have not been altered in transit,\" said Patrick Richard, chief technology officer for Xcert. \"Surety provides the leading notary service for digital data and we are pleased they have chosen to join our network of technology partners committed to large-scale PKI deployments.\"
About Digital Notary Service
Digital Notary Service notarizes any digital content by creating a small digital fingerprint of the target data and sending it to Surety, Inc to be registered and timestamped. A unique Digital Notary Record is then sent back to the requesting client for later use in validating the notarization. Individuals, companies and governments using Surety\'s Digital Notary Service can be assured their proprietary data is protected because a digital fingerprint is a one-way identifier-no part of the original data record or file can be reconstructed from its fingerprint.
Offering unprecedented and irrefutable record security, Digital Notary Service protects electronic records in legal settings; reliably dates inventions to establish intellectual property rights; guarantees tamperproof records for regulatory compliance; prevents insider fraud, and; validates the authenticity of electronic records created by e-commerce transactions.
