Security Industry Veteran Tom McDonough Named to Surety’s Board of Directors

Herndon, Va., April 28, 2003 – Surety, Inc., a leading provider of data integrity services, today announced that it has named Tom McDonough, President and Chief Operating Officer of Sourcefire, Inc., to its Board of Directors. McDonough has an impressive resume in the network security market, and has strong operational experience in building and selling successful software companies—including Mountain Wave, Inc., which was acquired by Symantec Corporation in July 2002. He was also a senior member of the management team at Aether Systems, Inc. after its acquisition of Riverbed in 2000.

Before joining Sourcefire, McDonough was the Chief Executive Officer of Mountain Wave, Inc., which was acquired by Symantec Corporation in July 2002. Prior to Mountain Wave, McDonough was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Riverbed Technologies, a leader in mobile and wireless computing. He subsequently became the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Aether Systems, Inc., a leader in the wireless data market after Aether acquired Riverbed in 2000. Previously, McDonough spent six years with Axent Technologies, Inc., an Internet security company where he was an original member of the management team and Vice President of North American Sales and Professional Services.
