Surety Expands Management Team With New Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales Operations and Vice President of Engineering

HERNDON, VA, May 19, 2003 – Surety, Inc., a leading provider of data integrity services, today announced that it has expanded its executive management team with two new appointments. Cynthia Brent, previously with AMS, joins Surety as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales Operations and Jim O’Connor, previously with TruSecure, joins as Vice President of Engineering. Both executives, who have each spent over 20 years building technology companies, bring a wealth of experience to Surety.

They are great additions to our management team.”

Brent will be responsible for building and optimizing the performance of the sales teams, establishing channel programs and partnerships, and developing strategic alliances. Prior to joining Surety, she served as Vice President of Customer Solutions for AMS’ Media, Entertainment and Broadband practice. She has also held numerous senior sales and management positions at companies such as eMotion, Digital Island and Nichols Research Corporation, and spent 13 years at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). She graduated from James Madison University with a double major in Management and Marketing.

O’Connor will be responsible for extending Surety’s technological leadership in the data integrity market and for growing and managing the company’s engineering operations, including technology research and development. He has extensive experience building Innovative, security-related software products and services. O’Connor joins Surety from TruSecure Corporation where he recently served as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to TruSecure, he was Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Parabon Computation. He has also held engineering, software development and research positions at companies including CyberCash, Infosystems Technology, Software Productivity Consortium and Unisys Defense Systems. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from the Catholic University of America.
